Roger S. Baum
Born in Los Angeles, California, Roger S. Baum is a best-selling children's book author and the great-grandson of L. Frank Baum, creator of the original Oz book series. He is the author of many Oz books to date, including Dorothy of Oz, Rewolf of Oz, Long Ears and Tailspin in Candy Land, The Green Star of Oz, The SillyOzbul Trilogy, Lion of Oz and the Badge of Courage, Toto in Candy Land of Oz, Toto of Oz and the Surprise Party, and The Wizard of Oz and the Magic Merry-Go-Round. Lion of Oz was recently made into an animated movie for the Disney Channel, airing for the first time in August of 2000 and starring Dom Deluise, Lynn Redgrave, Jason Priestley, and Tim Curry, among others.
Formerly a vice president of a New York investment brokerage firm, Roger is known for his creativity and innovations within the business community and is now a noted children's author. While many other authors merely sign and date books, Roger has gained a reputation for composing beautiful and heartfelt dedications to his Oz fans at book signings. He and his wife, Charlene, live in Missouri, where he is continuing his work and is in the process of writing a new novel for all Oz fans to enjoy.
